internal beadlock pressure staying same as tyre

Hi all,

i recently got new wheels/tyres and internal beadlocks fitted by a well known tyre company. trouble is, when i lower the tyre pressure, after a short while (up to a few hours, sometimes straight away) the pressure of the beadlock equalises to the pressure of the tyre.

i've already been told the beadlock tube may have a hole in it but hard to imagine this happened to all 5.

when i took it back the first time, the tyre co. advised it was due to the sequence of inflating. they deflated the tyres completely, then inflated the beadlocks very high, then inflated the tyres but i have the same issue except on one tyre.

i'm still in discussions with them about this but wondered if anyone has had similar problems or know what might be causing this?

cheers,

wayne

Certainly sounds like a hole in the tube, and yes it is all possible to do all 5.

The only times I have had equalisation is if the tubes has a hole.

yeah, i agree, u must have holes in them all.
I stuffed up and put a gash in one of mine and thats what was happening. luckily it was a pretty cheap fix.

Agreed, you must have a hole in the tubes. If you let one of them down completely, tyre and bead lock, then inflate the beadlock to 40 psi. Leave it overnight. If there is pressure in the tyre and the beadlock has gone down then you know it's a hole in the tube.

thanks guys, i thought that might be the case. it's the consensus on another forum aswell. but it doesn't explain why, after they deflated/re-inflated the tyres, that one of them works properly.
