I'd go 80! Make sure you get one with live axel (for play). The 1HZ is an awesome engine. I get 10L/100k around town and never have any shortage of torque off road.

They are, and also cheaper, and also have better gearboxes... food for thought esp if you want to go turbo or tow anything.
Cheers,

IMOP

Only 2 options ..

80 or 105 both live axles .. the diference come with part time 80 series and old bodys but with the powerfull 1HD-T very capable engine ..

Or the 105 live axles, new body and look ( all stuff more new ) but 1HZ .. good engine but less power than 1HD-T ( turbo engine ) all in all you can fit an aftermaket turbo and interooler and make it fly ..

80's have a better gearbox, are lighter in the front end (better due to little front diff) have 4:1 not 4:3 front diff, again stronger pinion. Are smaller in the bush, have less overhang front, rear and width.

100's are quieter inside

100's better dirt track tourer, 80's better bush car.

I've got an 80, if I replace it, it will be with a GU.
