+ the chassis ($5k ?)
+ the work to do it all.....

You can buy a real ex army hummer for $50k in AU.
Only the 6.2l deisel, not the later 6.5, thats costs more, as do civilian versions.

real hummers have geared hubs.
And lots of other nice parts :)

Check out http://www.hummer.com/ And its the H1 you want to be looking at. H2 is build on a part full size silverado pickup part suburban platform..... but with some nice bits like big tyres stock.
