thinkin of buying a rocky?

Post by --sinner-- »

hey all, im currently after a cheap fourbie, something i can drive on wet days when i cant ride the bike, but can also have a bit of fun in, now ive been looking at mainly sierras, but i love my diesel... and i came across this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0157022331
now can anyone offer me any advice in the way of buying one of these? pro's and cons?
used to own a 2.4 4runner which was sloooooow as, figure this will be a lil better seeing its smaller, and slightly bigger motor.

also, with my 4runner, with 3 inch lift and 33's i used to average about 11l/100km which in my books is pretty damn good. what would be average for this lil truck?

The steering on that thing looks nasty. I'd love to see it full lock left and full articulation.

I guess you could say i am in a somewhat similiar situation. I am selling my 4Runner for something cheaper and smaller to use purely as a play toy. Every option i consider always comes back to one vehicle and that's a Suzuki Sierra for a many reasons.

not as light as a sierra, and harder to get parts for
theres normally a reason why cars like that go so cheap

You see no issue with the drag link?

I don't think that particular one is very well priced. I got mine for 2000 and it didn't have a crap yank color scheme, or a backyard SPOA, and it came with rego. Keep looking and you can find better for not a lot more. But as a pure trail pig that thing looks ok :D

Rocky2.8 is a pretty poky motor, and I think a rocky's a fair bit lighter than a runner so should be a fair bit quicker. Try and find a turboed one if u can, but $$$.
60 + Turbo, 33"s
