i ported mine out took 4 hrs each port but was well worth it got rid of that cast around the head bolts in all the ports . down side more port volume means takes longer to get on boost
One of my support crew has just had a head done for his truck and with some minor porting they got 28% better flow. Quite suprising as there is very little done. Basically they tidied it up. ie they didn't increase the volume very much at all. The basic port size is still the same just taken restrictions out. They did have flow bench etc the results are acurate.
93 Nissan Pathfinder / Terrano Turboed VH45, GQ Trans and T-case, coil overs, hydraulic winch and fair bit of other stuff. (Currently a pile of parts in the workshop)
I have an old head that I am going to cut up and see how far it will go. It can be a very precise art, which can also cause troubles if you do too much. Find someone with a flow bench and get them to do it.

Home of the twin turbo shorty and many 150rwkw+ patrols.
Port jobs on these are of some help but i dont think it is the best thing you can do with them. As a package a cleanup along with good valve springs and attention to the cooling side of things works well.
