Gabriel it's about time we got some pics of these toys that you are building. Your shorty sounds very nice, bit high for my liking but front and rear winches sounds very nice. Only cars in aus I have seen like that are Patrol utes.

Hi guys,

Thank you for your interest in my car...I have to tell you that my car is "under construction!!" since august...and I still have a lot of work to do on it...such as:

- MQ knukles (today I took it from the mechanic shop - I reverse the hooles up side down)
- the steering custom made rods (will be steinless steel, 42 mm diam, 3 wall, inside another bar with 33 diameter, also 3 mm wall). I bought the materials, but I have to machine it...
- the new shocks arrived before christmas, but I took it from the airport on jan 6th. Sway-a-way coilovers, 14" travel, 2.5" diam, w/res. I will replace my existing custom made coil-overs, as this are not good enough (broken easy...;-((. On jan 20th I will go to the factory in order to make the spings...so I'll install it on the car end of this month...
- I have to make the custom cuted prop shaft...as the rear axle is moved now 15 cm back...through the same steinless steel traction arms as will be the tie-rods...plus the fact that I made the arms with johnny joints at both ends (johnny joints that I made it, btw...) ...together with the 4-link triangulated rear susp...

...and thats all what is still pending...plus painting the car (will be Lamborghini Orange.. ;) ...did I forget to tell you that the car now is a kind of "king cab"?!? The back is cutted this style...I have some pics in this stage, but I have in the camera, not downlowded yet..

ohhh yeahhh, I still have to cutt the gear box crossmember, as at full front flex, the front shaft is touching the crossmember...

The old "style" car you can see it on my club web page, under the "photo section", look at the Transylvania Adventure Trophy 2003, there is my GQ black color...

I'll keep you up-dated, with my changes... ;)

...I forget to tell you that regarding the 7" lift, there was not a good idea...I found it out by myself, on the first comp with this lift, so I lowered the car 2"...now I'll keep it that high (thanks to the regulables "everything" I have under the car, is a easy job to high or lower the car now...). YES, 7" in a SWB is FAAAAAR too much...and is useless, even the suspension works great, the rear tires will rub on the inner guards...so no good idea...but this bed ideas I have to find it by myself, probing and testing...

Guys,

I made some progress in building my car...\

I finalise the rear axle:

- triangulated 4 link on johnny joints and ball joints
- the rear axle is moved backwords about 14 cm

Centre: I cutted the T-case cross member, in order to allow the front driveshaft to move with the front suspension

Front:

- I reconstructed the coil-over upper mounts
- I beefed a bit the lower shock mounts
- I mounted the MQ style steering stuff...

The 8 liters aditional gas deposit is done (waiting to be mounted) - the little gas deposit has a shape that permit the car to be 90 degrees on on side, and the engine still has fuel.

On monday the car will be painted, so starting then I think in 2 weeks I will run it!!! (I cant wait to do that...;-)))

I'll keep you updated with the process.

Best regards, Gabriel
