I have a 2000 SR5, which has the 4wd activation via the button on the side of the transfer lever, and the auto disconnecting differential setup.
I want to convert it to a standard J-pattern transfer case, with the manual freewheeling hubs.
It seems every wreckers I have called want mega $$ for a transfer case. Looking in the workshop manual, the internals of the transfer cases are basicly the same, with the main difference being the standard case has two shift rods and a different gate setup for the shift pattern, whereas the SR5 has only one shift rod for High/Low and the electronic actuator.
Does anybody know of anyone who can convert the SR5 style transfers back to the standard spec (preferably in Brisbane)?
