rightio,
just thought id put up a bit of an update, i think cheezy is kinda interested how this is going and also there may be a few others.
so pretty much im about 95% finished. Just gotta chop the rear quarters and get a few things like compressors, tacho, fuel guage all working and im done.
Then its time for engineers, then blue slip, then written off vehicle check, then green slip, then rego and its driving.
heres some piccies for all to enjoy, just for the info, it was my dad and i did all the work, the crane helped a bit, and it was done in about 5 days.
enjoy could take a while to download, especially if your on dial up

ahhaha yeh was a big crane. Had a 15t franna come first, could get into the backyard but not enough room to move cos frannas dont swivel. This was cheaper than what you have written anyways
was by far the best and easiest and most controlled way ever of doing a body swap. Could lift millimetres at a time and could pause whenever we wanted to check shit and didnt bend the roof like a know a few have with tractors and forks.
Hell of a way to do a bodylift too

hahaha nah not the girlfriends car, i was mucking round when i said the springs are going to be pink
as far as the quarters, iv done them, they look sweet, and iv cut the flares to match, ill put up pics in the near future.
ill do a full write up and full pics for everybody when its on the road legally and driving. For now i have a permit from the RTA to drive it to NEwcastle next Tuesday for Eng. Cert
shouldnt be long.

just for the few who questioned about the quarters, the old 4" grinder and 1mm disc did the trick, a pair of tin snips, some checker plate, pop rivets and silastic finished it off.
trick is to cut it off about 15mm below where you want the quarter to to be cut off and fold the 15mm under to have a lip to rivet to. Rivet the checker plate to the under side and silastic the edges.
the fiberglass mouldings were cut with a wood saw freehand. Looks okay to me. Maybe one day ill be bothered to fill the undersides of the mouldings with fiberglass but until then its all good.
a pic of the finished product to be engineered very soon, then blue slip, WOVR check, and then rego.
cheers,
dean

sure are
the BFGs on white rims are the normal Pajero/Rodeo/Navara offset and actually rubbed on the draglink of the high steer on the SAS so i had to put my cruiser offset rims on the front so i could drive it.
Itll run the black rims with 35" MTRs. Have to keep the bodylift for the long range fuel tank, but we'll see about the springs, its pretty high, but actually drives pretty well on the road, except for the crazy steering wobble from the unbalanced tyres at the moment.
cheers,
dean.

its engineered for the 33"s because that is what was on it and i didnt have the speed, weight ratings for the 35"s. Will get it updated as soon as the new tyres arrive,
and just an update,
it wont be running 35" MTRs, i ordered my new tyres yesterday, 35"x12.5"x15" Maxxis Trepadors, none in NSW but the guys looked after me pretty well
about $30 more per corner, lets hope theyre worth it...

Damn nice job dean. I so rarely pop my head in here these days that I had to do some back tracking to figure out how Frank's truck ended up in your hands.
Sorry for Frank, but at least it has a real home in NSW now.
Is there anything hard enough left in the wattos these days that will actually give it a proper test!?
Looking forward to bumping into you sometime so I can see this SAS Paj wonder.
Now all it needs is a nice Lexus V8 in it and it will be the perfect Paj. I have seen a couple now done by the mob at hornsby and they are a cool conversion...

THE JABBER LIVES
Awesome work klrevo it looks just like it did when Frank had it .
You will have a ball testing the Jabber.
We will have to come up for a track or two one time so I can hear the motor screaming again in the hills (it did sound grouse when Frank stomped the gas).
