DOH! Car no worky :(
Drove the car to work yesterday...fine...
Got back in it after work yesterday...nothing...nada....zippo!! DDOOOOHHH!
All electricals are fine, full power in the battery according to Mr Multimeter. Turn the key, lights come on on the dash, but engine doesn't crank. Fuel pump turns on...
I think my starter is stuffed????
I clutch started it fine and drove it home with no issues. As soon as I got home, turned it off, tried to turn it back on...still no go..
I've checked the obvious like cables, fuses but no dice...
NE1 know what a starter goes for or have any other ideas on what to check?

alot of times the starter itself is good, its the selinoid (spelling?) that goes bad... some brands ur lucky and can replace it.. others, ur not.... gotta replace the whole unit.. look around, see what you can find. have you been fourby lately? its possible that maybe you lost contact due to bein battered around or dirt? check around see what ya find.

Murray rip your starter motor out and pull it to bits - especially the solenoid. Then clean it up and lubricate the solenoid assembly only with silicon spray. Most likely the solenoid is full of gunk attracted by the crap lubricant they put on them.
I can Email you some info on the starter motor if you haven't got anything on it.

disagree wit all of the above
if you turn the key and the motor spins ( starter motor ) your solinoid is bugerd or no power, If you turn the key and you hear a click your starter motor is bugerd or no power, if you turn the key and nothing happens at all most likely the relay has had it this is located next t the batery in a small black box there is a couple of themm read in the cap wich is for the starter swap it with one of the others and try to start if it goes well replace the relay. if there is still no action use a spanner and go from neutral pin on the starter to the body if it turns test the power to the relay you might have a broken wire or a bad earth connection for the relay. let us know

SA Kiwi damd what a combo. Mus have been made in bog.
I have had a similar problem myself and the problem was a bad connection at the starter. It was the cable that goes from the starter to the +ve side of the battry i think (12mm nut undr a soft black cover)
All i did was undo it clean it up with a bit of emry tape and the problem was fixed. Has happend a few times over the years.[/img]
