hi mate, go see ontrack, they do awesome work, a few of my mates have turbos on their straight gas tb42's, they are really good. 2 of my mates also had theirs done by ONTRACK, and the quality of the work is great, go see them. here is there site:
http://www.ontrack4x4.net.au/
I heard it costs around 10-13000 there, but the quality is really good. Thats drive in drive out for a fully rebuilt and strengthened motor, turbo, intercooler, and everything else that comes with it like gas research carbie, manifolds everything u name it. good luck

There are a variety of ways to do that depending on budget and fuel used (LPG/Petrol). There are cheap e-bay turbos, quality roller turbos with faster spool rates, intercoolers can be custom or are available on e-bay, cast manifolds, custom extractor style, the cooler plumbing can be alloy, stainless or mild steel depending on budget. Do you want to turbo the carby or convert to EFI, EFI allowing higher boost and more precise igntion control. A carby job will require electronic ignition for any reasonable power and a regraph or boost retard unit, boost over 7-9 psi usually requires valve springs. The clutch won't be up to the job if the turbo is done right.
We do these at work my previous ride was a shorty Mav with straight LPG and intercooled roller turbo.
PM me if you are interested on a price as we'll have to discuss options
