Vitara sj413 hybrid diff question
Vitara sj413 hybrid diff question
Hi
i have a stupid question . Seen the hybrid diffs the usa guys sell . Thus my question is do samurai rear drive shafts fit into vitara rear diffs ? they are the same spline count and diameter from dubious web sites , so wanting to confirm .
Also anyone know the size of a vitara rear wheel bearing compared to a samurai one ? Will go and ask a parts shop tomorrow if know knows off the top of there head .
thanks
chris

If what you're asking is what I think it is, yes.
Vitara rear and sierra rear are both 27 spline.
Vitara's have much better and bigger wheel bearings. sierra wheelbearings are 72mm OD and vitara are 80mm - that's probably 30% stronger.
Steve.

No, a vitara rear housing won't fit into a sierra housing.
A vitara front will though, but you wouldn't want one as 99% are alloy.
The Suzana uses Dana axles and a vitara centre, as some Dana 30's and 44's used 27 spline axles from memory. In australia, I think the Suzana is a dead end because dana stuff is too rare and unknown.

ive got a suzana diff in the front of my zook, it consists of a rear vitara diff centre + housing with custom axle tubes then D44 knuckles.......its got D35 inner + outer axles, and they are different spline to the suzi axles......from memory it has dana side gears grafted into the vit diff centre........Gwagensteve wrote:No, a vitara rear housing won't fit into a sierra housing.

If you are running an ARB air locker, ARB had some D30/35(?) 27 splined and D44 30 splined sidegears to suit the Vit locker. They are not a normally listed part but they do existmuz_ook wrote:ive got a suzana diff in the front of my zook, it consists of a rear vitara diff centre + housing with custom axle tubes then D44 knuckles.......its got D35 inner + outer axles, and they are different spline to the suzi axles......from memory it has dana side gears grafted into the vit diff centre........Gwagensteve wrote:No, a vitara rear housing won't fit into a sierra housing.
