there are some places that do it in Oz but its generally cheaper to get that sorta stuff from the US. I just got the spidertrax mounts....look really good and strong enough for my 4.9s.... although the mighty kong incorporates a bashplate as well for a little more.

thats my ratchet strap too. You need to fix a few more things while ya at it. I'd get sick of that radio falling out of the dash all the time.I need to sort something out it held in with a ratchet strap!

Once you have lockers and get into ledges and stuff they can go pretty easily. It's all down to how much traction you can generate.
Out in interest, the early 1.0 mounts are superior- they mount on 4 points and the case is less likely to twist.
Steve.

Is this an area where too much strengthening can be hazzardous?
Rocktoy rings strenghten the case, king kong etc strenghten the mounts
Personally I would rather just the case strenghtened and replace mounts as needed
Something has to give might as well the cheapest and easiest part to replace

That's normally adequate but did you brace it to a couple of the front output bolts? This will REALLY prevent it bending and help prevent the bolts breaking out of the case.
The next thing that will go is that the tension mount will bend and the case will hit the floor. Not really a show stopper though.
Remember, whenever you reinforce something, you move the force into something else, be it chassis mounts, or upstream into the gearbox/engine mounts.

thats awesome! how many inches higher?markil wrote:I braced the long arm with 6mm plate and made a new short one from 6mm also. Has been a reliable setup so far
Of course to do this it will raise the transfer up a few inches and unless you have a BL you'll have to do some major cutting
Do you have a pic from the other side showing upper track bar mount markil?
Does anyone know if driveshaft angles become a problem in a SWB? say spoa on std. springs with the transfer higher?
Cheers guys i'm taking it all in!
The roctoy ring looks preety easy but i don't really want to open up the case again!
Gwagensteve the mount i had had 4 bolts holding that side to the mount then the actuall mount is secured in 2 places paralel to the chassis rail! Do you mean the mount has 4 mounting points or the case to the mount? Cause i thought all had 4 bolts holing the case to the mount on the drivers side?
Markil now that is reiforced! But i don't have a body lift and i don't wanna go cutting too much.......
Keep it coming guys!
