Take it to someone that nows what they are doing so you dont fuck it up :!:

I am running 10 into my 2.4 which is by no means a lot but thats up from 7 standard. This increase gave me a 30per cent increase inhorse power and the trouqe increased as well but i can't remeber the amout. It was a noticable difference to drive the truck.

MTX did a quick trick on his surf and wacked a couple of washers between the waste gate and the mount..

this info was obtained via the toytota surf owners forum somewhere

it works aparently. increased boost about 4-6 lbs and made truck VERY driveable
45 series ute - 308 -gas -35's- lifted -no flex..But i got air lockers !

Dont muck around with it if you don't know what you're doing- nasty and expensive things will most likely happen.... Get youself a pressure guage from somewhere (doesn't have to be a proper boost guage, just anything that reads up to 20PSI or thereabouts) and plumb it into the inlet piping after the turbo to check the boost. Never adjust the boost without having a guage to check what it is running!!!

run 17 pound on mine, the motor handled it well and there is no visible damage to pistons/bore to this point. i did blow the head gasket but am too tight to buy a good one. I also have higher compression than standard.

Take it back to ARB, they should be able to do it, at a price im sure.
If not, a deisel workshop that handles turbos should be able to.

Nick, do you run at intercooler with 17 PSI? WOuldnt things get a little warm otherwise.

Slayer... thought about doing a quick engine swap... 240 Kilowatt Hilux with room for more, sounds like fun. Adapt the transfer case onto the 6 speed and away you go

*keep dreaming i say to myself*
Cheers,
Dan.

Easy, but a manual adjustable boost controller from any speed shop, about $50-$100 and connect it in the line that runs between the inlet compreser housing and the waste gate actuater(little black hose). You can then adjust to any boost you want (5-18?psi). Fuel may be a concern over 10-12 psi, but an 1/16th of a turn of the fuel mixture screw should suffice.

most go in line with the line on the hose to the waste gate they can be mounted romotely if you want to run the longer lines. they arnt big will fit most spots and like i said just go inline with a dial you turn to push up the boost and put a t piece in and run this to your boost gauge put it in before the boost controller so you get a reading of what you boost is put in after and it will just read what boost controller is sending to you waste gate which is normal boost pressure

Simple, it takes 10 min to do.All it is is a T peice with a valve in it that you either screw in or out with a little flat tip screw driver. All the way in is max boost, all the way out is std boost. Depends on the type you get depends on IF you have to mount it. The simple ones (easy and effective) are only as big as a match box and weigh as much as a battery terminal. They simpley sit/hang on the actuater line.

OK, I've have a few bleed off fitted to petrol turbo engines, but the principal is the same.

First of all you have to restrict the airflow through the airline to the wastegate (normally done by getting a brass T and soldering shut one end , then drilling a small hole - try 2.5mm through the solder).

Next install the T in the wastegate air line with the soldered end going to the boost air side from the engine inlet. Then install an adjustable bleed off onto the extra outlet on the T- make sure it has some sort of filter on it to prevent crap getting into the line.

By adjust the amount of air bled off you control the boost.

Not something I'd recommend a novice to experiment with!!! You need more fuel with more boost, plus you risk over speeding your turbo if it isn't designed to provide that kind of boost.

you can get all the fittings and tap from a hose surplies for 15 bucks and repco sell a speco boost guage for 45 bucks. yes i am povo and like to do things on the cheap.
