looking at a vitara

Post by Rangie Thing »

Hi all in vitara land, just need a bit of help as i am looking at buying a suzuki vitara 95 mod with v6 2lt.
just would like to know how good the motors and gearboxs are ?, do they like the revs and is there anything i should look out for ?
the only thing that is a problem is the timing chain has a rattle, any ideas how much of a job to fix and how much $$$ .
also how much lift can it have before problems ?.

Thanks for your time.

The timing chain rattle is the big one to look for. It's around $1500 to have it fixed. Lots of labour involved. The other weak point can be a leaky rear main seal.
