fitting rockhopper gears

Post by guzzla »

Im looking at getting some rockhopper cralwer gears for my 80s and was interested on feedback from those who have fitted them their self including any tips, time estimates and value for money reviews.

Alternatively I would consider having a professional do it so Id love a contact or 2 in the sydney area who you have experience with or deem competent in gearbox / transfer case work.

Thanks in advance.

G'day Guzzla

My crawler gears from Marks 4WD Adaptors arrived today. Im already in the process of dismantling the transfer case as I started to fit their part time kit aswell last weekend.
Now, I don't have any experiance with the insides of gearbox's, transfer case's, diff's, etc but being mechanically minded and with the instructions supllied it can be done. You do need the use of a press but other than that its pretty straight forward. If you fitted your part time kit, fitting crawler gears isn't much harder but a bit more time consuming.

Hope that helps, Damo.
