Lost drive to front - GQ

Post by GUJohnno »

I went for a drive @ Mt. Dissa sunday after putting some new 35"s on.

Was going up the last of the Sisters and lost drive to the front wheels (with front locker in).
One of the guys said he could see the drive shaft turning. This would make me think that it could be something in the transfer case that has gone.

Any suggestions?
Any one had similar troubles?

This would indicate that its in the front end - try hubs or cv's first

Locked up front ? Hope your hubs were not on 4x4 ... otherwise, either your hubs or cvs or axles are gone ...

not necassarily, it could be the transfer, the shaft will turn if the hubs are locked weather its in 4wd or not, problem could be either end.
Jack it up and turn the shaft by hand with the hubs locked and see if the wheels turn.

No doubt they are good, but just a tad over the top for the average recreational driver.
