Just wanting to know if anyone knows what size shocks i need for my truck.
It is a 82 stockman ute with spoa and will have 2 inch extended shackles.
Dont see the piont in buying ones that are too short.

What size shocks????
have you got a high jack? or access to a forklift? or even an engine hoist?
if no then you might want to find something, or maybe someone on here has the excact same set up,
Get your car to full flex using one of these items, measure the total flex length of the shockie needed, and measure the total compression size aswell, This will give you a good Idea as to what the lengths are,
take the measurements to a suspension place and see if they can help.
No doubt though you might have to modify your shockie mounts-positions slightly to get a proper fit!
Lower bumpstops,,,
change the angle and height of rear top shock mounts. Many things can be done do accomadate shockies as you probably already know

I hate going to weddings because all the grandma's used to poke me in the ribs saying you're next, you're next. They've stopped doing it since I started doing it to them at funerals.
I originaly used stock top mounts with the stock bottom mount on the spring plate that now sits above the springs instead of below it, it worked but not a good idea unless you limit uptravel. Then I went to 1-2" longer shocks with bottom mounts moved to top of diff. Now I ran hoops in the front and I recommend set your bumpstops first (dont invert your springs too much they dont last long). Then flex it to the bumpstop thats your collapsed height then measure the droop and thats the extended lenght.
Just my thoughts how I would do it again but I could be wrong its happened before.

Nik, sound advice, except I would always subtract 1" from your compressed length measured to the bumpstop to allow for compression of the stop in severe cases.
If the measurement from top mount to bottom mount is 15" with the axle on the bumpstop, then buy shocks with 14" of compressed length. This will ultimately save your shocks and mounts so it's a bit of useful insurance.

and I have 2 1/2" longer shock that works great, hits the bump stop and I still get full flex( when the car is about to tip... springs are to hard ATM)
I seriously think you will have to change your top and opssibly your bottom shock mounts to make a good shockie work properly, maybe even modify your bump stop.
Maybe you should do a bit more research before you spend any $ on shocks from someone that hasent even seen your rig at full flex!

Didnt the bible say that These Gabriel shocks 'bolt straight on' to the normal shock mounts?
