Mine use to get so hot. I was thinking of putting a cup warmer around to keep my travel mug warm on my way to work.
If I pushed the rubber down on the shaft it would be hot to touch.

(is it just me or does that sound just wrong).

sounds like one of 2 things, either a lack of oil so everything gets hot or worn components in the box wearing n creating excess heat due to friction

Does it have a body lift?

Mine started to get hot after i put the body lift in and people said it was now due to the extra hot air flow over the top of the box instead of under.

Heat is easily transferred from the box itself. Usual cause is shitty gearbox oil.

Yeah mine gets hot too, box in good nick and use good oil. Have done bodylift though. The side of the floor pan gets nice and hot too, but over here in the sth island of NZ, that's a good thing as it keeps my left leg real toasty.
