Just got home

What a day

That would have to have been the best Rockcrawling event i have been to all year :D

To run 10 courses in a day was just amazing. Amazing we still had anyone still running to run the last 3 courses and the shoot out. They were breaking sh!t everywhere. There were more rolls there today than a bakery.

I went down and spotted for Bee-Bee driving Sams US buggy with the rear steer locked out and we went from 3rd place after the first 3 courses, to second place after the next 3 courses, then into 4th place after the next 3 courses going into the shoot out only to somehow end up in 2nd again after the shootout

Bee-Bee had one of the hardest rolls i have seen from the top of one of the boxes and bent a front link that then broke a front tailshaft uni joint and also bent a rear link. And we struggled to get it back together. This caused us to 40 point 2 of the second 3 courses. But then he came back for more later on in the bonus land of the shootout to land even harder on the opposite side

Im sure he will be feeling this in the morning. And wishing Greg didnt slack off on him and pull out at the last minute :finger:

Anyway here are the top 3 results from memory without the point split from both classes.

Unlimited,
Pete Antunac (as if anyone thought this wasnt going to happen :D )
Tim Scut
Adrian Berthelsen

Pro-Modified,
Dave Camp
David Burton-Bradley
Sean Langley.

OH Yeah pete drove(almost Crawled the entire way) up an 80* Climb straight up the end of a shipping container that no one would have beleived was possible if he had no witnesses

Pete im really starting to think you need to find a new sport because this one isnt challenging you much at all anymore :P

PS; Thanks to Sam for letting us Thrash the life out of your Buggy  . Ill try and get over in the next week or so to give you a hand to get it back together for Ozrock at Lara.

I got no pics so dont ask me, sorry

Stunning event.......esp Mr Antunac's drive in the Shoot-out.

Damo did a great job informing the crowd, (and thanks for the plugs), and there seemed to be a lot of locals spectating.

Thank you Sam for your development of the sport in Oz..... ;)

Yeah I'm damn sore! Bruising on both legs (from the seat), bruising on both shoulders (from the harnesses), damn sore neck, elbow and 2 knees. What a ride! At least the hangover has passed

Big thanks to RUFF for stepping up and spotting for me this weekend. Couldn't have done it without you ;)

And an even bigger thanks to Sam for not only hosting the most action packed, awesome display of rockcrawling, but giving me his buggy to trash! We broke 2 links, 1 universal joint and a carrier bearing on the front shaft. Good luck with fixing all that between now and Ozrock Sam :D

got home an hour or so ago
without a doubt that is the best competition i have been to
well done to Sam, Tom, Dave and who ever else was involved behind the scenes

the crowd was going nuts in the shootout
+ the 20 or so kids running along the fence from one end to the other
trying to race/keep up with the buggys
some amazing drives and very hard drives
with out a doubt its the hardest i have pushed the guppy and it was loving it

the venue was spot on being able to sit in the grandstand
and see all 3 courses going at once really kept the crowd entertained
i am sure they will be back again.

looking forward to next season

WOW, massive  to Sam O for organising the absolute best rockcrawling event I have been to this yeah, without a doubt.

From start to finish there was non stop action. wheel stands, nose stands, ends, backflips U name it it happened at the finals.

Also to all the drivers and spotters, awesome show of skills, talent and love of the sport.

Was awesome to help Tim to spot the guppy thru to 2nd place   cant wait until next yeah.

Tim is by far the best dude at wheeling in 2WD, as in on the front 2 tyres on the ground with the rear 2 about 100" above the fronts ENDO TIME !!!!!!! have to get the video footage up ASAP..

Pete A, wow how good was the climb up the end of the container, that was some cool stuff

P.s watch out for the underdog's :finger:

What an awesome event. After all the complaints about Eastern Creek I was skeptical about hosting the finals on man made courses again, but holy cow.............. amazing how much difference a few extra small pods and a reduction in course time makes.

Big thanks to Dave Bowles for providing his Judges buggy for us to drive. Happy we didnt break anything this time Dave even after 2 rolls. Gave us a whole new perspective of just how well you guys drive these things having now done a full event for the first time.

Pete A, what a drive. It's one thing to see the crowd excited, but when you see all the other drivers and spotters also cheering and shaking their heads, well, that's testimony as to just how good a drive that shoot out was. And as for the 80 deg wall, like Tony said, I would not have believed it was possible.

Congratulations Sam, best Werock event yet.

Shaun

PS Hey Napsta, thankyou for replicating both our rolls in identical fashion. It's not often you get to see your own mistakes performed for your own enjoyment.
