weird idleing 4 runner

Post by joey2389 »

hey ive got a 92 4 runner with a 3vze in it. when i bought the car about a year ago it was idleing about 750, which is normall i think. about 4 months it started to idel round 1500? then it began to rise and drop when cold between 1500 and 1000. and very rarely it idles for short periods of time around the 900 mark never 750 since it started going wack. ive finally cracked the shits with it and want to fix it back up. is there any suggestings what it could be and what i should have a look at. any info would be greatly appreciated and taken on board. thanks joey2389.

start with removintg the throttle body and cleaning in out it will be clogged with carbon. clean out the iac motor if it has one. just use carby cleaner or throttle body cleaner, get it from Repco or Coventry.
Personally im not sure if they are electronically controlled or not, if they are disconnect your battery so your computer can reset.
start with that.
