defender steps/sill protection

Anyone know where to get good strong steps/sill protection for a 2002 model defender. My mate has just got one and is after some heacvy duty ones. any pics

Why don't you guys get a 7.5x7.5 cm steel section, cut it to length, and weld on some mounts to the outriggers. A buddy of mine did it. It should not cost you much at all...

I have some Mantec sliders which are damn fine. http://www.mantec.co.uk/
Look easy enough to build - they are essentially a length of box section with mounts on one side that pick up the bulkhead mount at the front and the tube at the rear. (90's have a tube, 110s dont)
As long as you keep the base of the sliders free to slide over things and attach them to solid enough points on the chassis they will be fine. Mine will hold the weight of the vehicle without bending.
Build them to stick out a few inches from the doors like these
