winch fairlead size

Does any one know the optimum size your fairlead needs to be for a 9" drum and a 12" drum?

about 10mm min shorter each end

Yeah wasn't sure to go same width as drum or slightly smaller on the ends or even a inch or so each end.

Will make fairlead to suit the 10mm sizing.
