Intercooler for D22 ST-R Navara 05'

Post by Navara82 »

Hi there fellow wheelers. Anybody heard of, seen, or know if there is a Intercooler kit for a 05 Navara D22? Anyone have any photos of one fitted?

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

no they do not come standard in other countries.

they come standard on the 2.5 litre YD25 motor but not on the 3 litre motor ZD30 motor. completly different inlet manifolds so its not a simply swap. not even sure if you could fit the patrol intercooler as the rocker cover is different and the bonnet height is different.

there was some pics of a 3 litre with a front mount interrcooler on http://www.nissan-navara.net/index.php i'll see if i can find it.

edit: pics

Mate, Your are a champion, not only have those photos helped me a bit, they have also inspired me to get going with it and start organising plans!!!

Is there anyone on outers that may be able to assist with making up pipes or supplying intercoolers??

Cheers

i'm not sure on how they got the pipes around the radiator as its quite tight between headlight and radiator. also the bottom hose will need looking at.

if you have the $$$ have a look at water-air intercoolers. much easier to fit as you could simply replace the elbow from turbo to intake.
www.are.com.au has good info.

also have you disabled the butterfly and EGR ?

Butterfly and EGR disablement??? Does that not effect the emissions and stuff? Does it make it blow smoke?? :?

What are the details to do this. I might take a look and do that also.

Benefits?? How much difference does it make?

it disables the emmisions system (might be illegal over there but i doubt they would notice).

benifits.... decreases black smoke, improves low down power and drivability, improved fuel economy, lessens risk of blowing pistons !

downside....increases nox emmisions (but lowers other emmisions!) and dos not effect full power in any way.

also highly recommended is catch can with filter material in it.
