What size battery for V6 Vitara

Post by rocknferoza »

The battery in mums 1995 V6 vitara has gone flat and looks like it needs a new battery.
It has a Century 41 battery which has 280CCA. IMO the battery is to small for it. There is heaps of room for a bigger battery but the plastic tray would be to small for a larger battery. Can we get away with not using the tray and what size battery do you all recommend :?:

Thanx

take out the old stuffed bat and tray ......
Measure the space you will have to fit a new battery in there......
go to either battery world or some thing like that......
and see if they have one to suit, or that comes close to fitting the area....
I did this for my zook and my statesman that I had, $350 for the one in the statesman, But it was a Huge battery that would keep my stereo running for 4 hours :D :D . Zook battery was $135, twice the size of the standard battery.... and no leaks if it flips
I hate going to weddings because all the grandma's used to poke me in the ribs saying you're next, you're next. They've stopped doing it since I started doing it to them at funerals.

I'm sure the battery in my 2004 XL-7 is a lot bigger capacity than that? Is the battery located up the rhs rear (as you face the engine bay)?

Perhaps check out the set up in the later models?

Suzuki specify a 12v 55B24L (36AH) or a 55D23L (48AH) for cold areas. I've got a Yellow Top Optima in mine.
