smoke 100 series

Post by SIERRA BANDIT »

hello all

my father has a 105 series diesel with a 1HZ

the problem is it blows black smoke out the exhaust and covers the back door with soot. this happens no matter how we drive it, i noticed that a few others, same model, around town have the same problem.

is it overfueling. we dont accelerate fast.

we get about 800ks to both tanks main and sub.

is there a fix

The black smoke is nearly always bad injectors or the pump needs some adjustment.
Spend about $600ish on a diesel fuel service and the problem should be fixed.
Th injector nozzles are probably dribbling fuel out rather than spraying it.
In the long run it can lead to hot spots on the piston and burn a hole in it.
Before you get it serviced you should get a new air and fuel filter fitted.

800 klms from both tanks is not much if you mean 400 klms per tank.
I can get 1200klms from my 2 tanks without the canopy
