SUZUKI 1.3l SIERRA 31inch tyres-2inch linft

Post by Bruzar »

Gday fellas...

Never posted in here before, i may be joining the SUZUKI world soon.. just need some advice as i have no clue about these vehicles...

Im purchusing one as my daily (fuel ECONOMICAL) driver+WEEKENDER... i drive a nice 91 FORD LASER..ATM which is now for sale.. which is fine,, but i want a 4wd as a daily so i can F*C around with it.. and as thier meant to be ECONIMICAL seem like a good choice.

QUESTION::

looking at one ATM.. want to know what is the most i should pay for a:

92 2dr 1.3l...with 31"tyrs...2inch lift.. close to 200,000km
(roughly)
think it has exuast+extractors a few goodies like that,,,

does not have any A/C or P/S or any of that.. what is the going rate??

Advice appreciated thanks.

Expect to pay $3500-4000 for it. If its going to be a daily driver it sounds like its not a bad buy as you can be real cheap ones but are really only good for trail rigs in my opinion.

You may be surprised though when you find out it drinks more fuel than your laser and is slower.

X2...
My Suzi uses more fuel than my FJ62 Sahara. Poor little 1.3 is full throttle everywhere. Sahara cruises on about 35-45% throttle.
They are fantastic little cars but don't expect outstanding economy by any means.
You may be better off keeping your laser for work and getting a cheaper suzi for weekends.

up to 5k. pretty much no sierra has p/s or a/c ( the occasional hardtop only). they use about 300km on a 35L tank to give u a rough idea and if u have extractors maybe 10% less economical. but yeah if its neat and with a saftey its worth 5.

For me to hit 100kph with 32s and series 4 gearing. im usualy reving up near the 4k mark in 4th. cant hit 5th unless there is no wind and no incline... so they rev pretty hard allot on road. PS i recon they are horrible to drive on road and woudnt reccomend it for a Daily drive. mine gets blown all over the shop.

Compared to a Laser, A suzi is a block of flats (aerodynamically).
The 1.3 has way less torque than a 1.5L(or bigger) laser motor and has to push a bigger car(wind resistance) with taller tyres(more resistance) and a transfer case. This all adds up to rather poor economy but that is offset by the availability of cheap parts and awesome offroad ability(once modded slightly).
I paid $1500 for mine got it roadworthied the next day with no repairs. If you pay more than $3000 I'd say you are ripping yourself off.

i wouldnt say they chew through fuel just not the best. if u want a 4x4 they are def one of the lightest on fuel. i think a 1.6 vitara is the same on fuel but is more comfy to drive and about the same price so theres another option. sierras is a little toughter i think and prob better to play in.

and ud be hard pressed to find one for 3k . sure there is the occasional odd bargain here and there but on an average day 3.5 - 5k depending on cond and stats. but 3k is findable, u just might have to wait a bit...

If you're happy to cruise like a granny everywhere you can get 8L/100km. But Zooks LOVE to rev and rev hard, and they'll do it all day long. And what petrolhead doesn't love driving around at 5000rpm. I reckon they've got a sweet note on song, but expect it to chew anything up to 15L/100km if you want to get anywhere this century, especially if it's modded.
