TD42T or TD42 + Turbo kit

Post by Mario »

Want to go turbo. That´s for sure. What should I do ?

1. Buy a factory TD42T off a wrecker (maybe trade in my N/A TD42

2. Keep my nice and trustable N/A TD42 and get a Safari or AXT turbo kit

Think both moves are around the same $$$. I´m not rich, but economy is not my priority. Power gain is.

What would you do ?
GQ TD42, OME 5" suspension, 3" bodylift, shimmed V6 Pathfinder LSD front, ARB rear, Safari snorkel, custom front and rear bumpers, Nissan 4.625 R&P, 37" MTRs.

I would think # 2 is 1/2 the price of #1...
how many klms on current engine?
I'd go turbo on current engine. At least you know the history of your engine, against ??? from a wrecker donk.

The aftermarket kits usually give much better results than the OEM Nissan gear.

Makes sense to go the one which will give better performance.
