Hilux Lockrite into LSD centre??
Will a lockrite go into an LSD carrier? or do i need an open carrier?
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
Generally you need an open centre. But i do remember years ago someone offered a lockright style locker to suit the LSD not sure who or if its still available.sierrajim wrote:Will a lockrite go into an LSD carrier? or do i need an open carrier?
mate don't think they have them for a lsd type centre, it would be easier for you to buy another diff centre in the same ratio (sell yours with the lsd) and then install a standard lockrite to it....
The lockrites are heaps easy and cheap to get for the lux's...And work AWSOME
you might even get a bit more for your lsd centre which will pay for some of your lockrite....

3.0L turbo diesel, 4" lift, bud's front housing, track assasin cv's, air lokker front + Rear, beadlock'd 37 stickies, high steer, 15.5" travel ranchos, high pinion diff and coils on the rear
I have already ordered the Lockrite from Lockedup 4x4 to suit standard 8" Hilux 4cyl centre. Have two LSD centres, which will turn into one for the front with a little extra pre load.
The rear will end up with the lockrite. Found a pair of complete hilux 3rd members tonight tucked away on a shelf so it should be all good.
Are all open centres the same? I vaugely recall the 4.1 ratios differed in some way??

I've got both 4.1 and 4.5 centres laying around here, and cannot find any difference in the actual centre. The 3rd member casing is slightly different, but that could be the difference in years (The 4.5s are from an 84 LN65, the 4.1s are some newer mid 90's vehicle).sierrajim wrote: Are all open centres the same? Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
you need the pin out of the middle of an open center and the carrier to suit it. The lsd carrier is different, i think it has 2 pins or a star, memory not great, it's been too long.
Outers & Arms up stickers coming soon you hungry bitches!
