Jimny - Problems starting when hot

Post by flylux »

My old man has a 2000 Jimny. When it gets really hot (in the dunes or a hot day just on the road) and you turn it off, it won't start again for another 10 mins.

Has anyone had similar problems or have any ideas?

(Seached, but found nothing relevant to starting problems)

Cheers Brad.

not sure if it applies with the jimnys but some newer cars have accumulators in the fuel system which if ruptured can cause hard starting when hot

11_evl - Bingo, if the Jimny is a Series 1 (single cam) this can be the problem.
