Jack Tyres.

Post by Slunnie »

A mate has bought a 3.1td Jack and is keen to fit some larger donuts. Does anybody know what the limits are before any tyre rubbing? I'd seen Westoztrooper runs 32x11.5 with a 2" lift.

(I've searched already!)

Hey Slunnie,

As you know Ive got the 32x11.5s on 8" rims. Do get rubbing on the front with this setup but its not too bad. Seems to be getting worse as I think my torsion bars are starting to sag. He could go the same combo as me or see how the 32s go on a 7" rim. Its really only the wider offset that causes mine to rub so you could try some different combinations and see what fits. Has he lifted it at all yet or is he going to?

Thanks for this Noel,

He has no lift, though I did suggest to him the OME lifts were pretty popular, and that I had gone up by 65mm with TJM in my old Frontera. He does plan to lift it a touch though. I'm not sure what he will do in terms of tyres though its good to get some type of idea about the limitations of the vehicle in this respect. Perhaps 32x10.5 is about the max without rubbing?
