1hdt injector pump automatic vs manual

Post by cruiza80 »

Just discovered my injector pump is no good, having a lot of trouble chasing down a new pump. I have been told that the manual pump will not work in an automatic, i would have thought that it would have just been add on stuff on the side of the pump for kick down cable etc.? it was disassembled when that was not wat i asked them to do, i asked them to bench test it and tell me if thats where the noise i heard was coming from. and then i was called and i was qouted 3500 dollars to recon it. If any 1 could give and ideas or information that would be greatly appreciated. Or if any1 knows of a 1hdt injector pump for an automatic for sale please let me know. Thanks

Its more like the auto wont work with a manual pump...there is a feedback doover ontop that feeds back throttle position,. just swap it over...better still, just rebuild your pump.

Apart from the TPS mounted on top of the pump, I'm sure there is a slight difference in the internals and / or calibration, but it will run and work I'm sure.
