that fuming problem I had with the top down has been dramatically reduced, not gone completely but with 180k you cant expect a perfectly good motor.

how'd I "fix" it??

Dia-Hard had the answer, I changed the oil!, I have been using a small amount of oil lately and had been topping up with that crappy Supercheap oil (I normally have it around to use as chainsaw bar oil) ... DONT RUN IT in your Fez, I drained the oil changed the filter and ran in 4 liters of Penzoil 25/60 high milage oil, and 90% of the fuming went away straight away. my one tappy lifter is quieter too, bugged the hell out of me but was too lazy to bother just adjusting one of them.

Moral to this story. Dont run crappy oil in your truck ... the higher the milage the better quaility oil it needs.

Ferockies love Penzoil. My 2 Rockys, have 128,000 and a 175,000 km respectively and my Feroza has just clicked over to 144,000. None use oil between 6000km changes, and you can effectively see through the outflow when draining the sump, ie the Penzoil 10-30 is still relatively clean appearing after those km. Penzoil might be a little dearer than some brands, but not as dear as others. It appears ideally suited for the motor.
cheers.
