the old GQ just stops
the old GQ just stops
now i drove to apollo bay from doveton no worrie set up me camp
the next day i started having problems
i drove a few meters or 100 meters and the GQ stop, restart drive another 100 meter and stops, as well as this while driving it back fired badly lighting up the road
me brothers thinking the solenoid on the carbie but tad unsure

hows the oil? might no be relevent at all to your situation, but when i let the oil get low in my MQ, a auto kill switch is engaged killing the engine to stop you farking it. dunno if nissan continued this feature, but mine would run for a min or so, then stop. and keep doing that till i worked out my oil was low

Not alot of information to go on, but ill have a crack.
There is a fuel cut solenoid on the carby that could be not working, and locked on. check this, remove the pin if unsure and see if problem resovles.
Check all fuel filters and air filters, remove if necessary and check.
Check for badly worn points. Replace if required.
Remove spark plugs and check. Reseat all plug leads.
Check for automatic choke sticking on etc.
Besides this, could be when it backfired it damaged the float etc.

as for point there near on brand new, leads are brand neaw along with plugs, and feul filter
, do how ever need new air filter
my GQS a 5 spd manual so i kinda dont have that auto kill switch thingy
