ofr57 - it's an EFI vitara motor, but a hilux gearbox and transfer. you can see the bellhousing to gearbox adapter in the photo of the rolling chassis - it's the shiny bit just before the blue gearbox.

The REAL work was in the floor - everything was pulled up high to provide a flan belly - see where the transfer was pulled up - the floor is cut nearly to the seat mount on the passenger side (RHS of the car) It was all covered with a removable fibreglass tunnel.

Tim Hardy did the virtual lift - I hadn't seen it with the tube front end on it - it's a shame as the front guards were art - stock flares and inner guards all moved and opened up.

A very inspirational car.

project snail was one of my favourites,
what amazes me is the amount of different variences of the hardtops that they come with.

The meanest bad-arze version I've ever seen is this one:
And just in case the number plate doesn't give it away, that's got a Toyota Diesel in it (well a diesel, can't remember for sure if it was a yota, but pretty sure it was).
