How has everyone mounted there mushroom type GPS aerials?

I have a bit of threaded gal pipe that im looking at cutting up and welding to a stand but im wondering what others have done and what materials have been used.

I mounted mine off the side of the snorkel ram. Ive seen them mounted on the rear swing away which is another good spot. (where you would mount a camp/work light)

Replaced it with a magnetic (puck) style antenna. Pop rivetted a steel plate to the snorkal ram head and stuck it on there.

Works a treat, never come close to knocking it off, the magnet is very strong, and the antenna is very low profile and disceet.

I use a 'puck' style and mounted it between the wipers. I've never had a signal problem and it's very well protected.

Mine is in the top lh inside corner of my windscreen held with double sided tape, outside has my club sticker so you wouldnt know it was there. By mushroom do you mean the ones that have a thread and mount like a cb ariel if so what about a gutter mount bracket ?

I have two in the Mav...one for the GPS UHF radio, it is held in by double side tape and the other for the GPS system in the new DVD/AM/FM radio that has a magnetic ariel that is on the driverside. Both sit on the metal dash just behind the windscreen.

I wouldn't put mine outside as they are not waterproof. Both pick up the signals well.
