hey

my mate has a johnson 70 , 3 cyl 2 stroke and it dosent like starting in the water (sea) it starts on the hose but when ya out u need to lift the moter out of the water and with the cover off open the fuel wings or the air ones then it starts perfect. i cant work out why it why it needs a fidddle with the wings on the carbs because all the choke settings are fine and looking at it it all seems to look fine.

any help or ideas???

Sounds flooded, needle and seats? Perhaps the carbies flood when the motor is tilted?
