Shifting to Low - 80 series

Post by waxhead.. »

My girlfriends mums 80 wont shift past 4high. Its a base model 80, 1990 build and its done some k's. Its their farm truck.
It will shift freely from 2High to 4High but the transfer shifter won't lift to go from 4High to Neutral or 4Low.
I have had a similar problem in my sierra and it was just the transfer bush had disintegrated, is this a similar deal? common problem in 80's? or something more sinister?
Cheers.
Rhys.

pull the shifter out and give it a good clean and grease and put it back in and it should work properly
