I *cough* borrowed *cough* some 4/5 port solenoid valves from work, SMC VZ3140 with the intentions of elec/vacuum my my maxidrives, these baby's should be perfect, problem is sourcing 12V coils, they came with 240V, when I priced the coils........126 beer tickets each , the whole assembly is only 174, I'm just wondering if their is someone who gets a decent price from a wholesaler here, Thanks
i have 2 spares from my shock set up what is the internal dimensions of the coils?

I used to work in the oil-gas industry where a lot of pneumatics are used (not that long ago that all control-gear was pneumatic), and had a swag of such gear on my vehicle. The big Omron programmable relays on bases would spin people out.
I found that 24VAC coils will pull-in and hold on 12VDC, so maybe see if they have any of these coils.

That's a bit tricky You little devil... you!!

Are you using these valves for vacuum? Reason i ask is some pneumatic valves use air/pilot pressure to shift once the coil is activated. No SMC info at home so cant check this particular valve but may pay to check it out before you fit it all up.
Have run 24volt hydraulic solenoids on 12v before but sometimes they wont shift if voltage is a bit low (will hold once shifted tho), so if you try this, you may have to use a relay to make sure you get full battery voltage (14v) to coil. I would think coil life would prob be shortened tho.

If they don't work with vacuum - just swap the lines over and run the MDs with 15psi compressed air. It's what I do.

But I've alrady got a vacuum source , Its got a boost source to but only when you give it stick
Sorry for the lack of replies, chasing up some option with a rep. at the moment
