Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hi guys

looking at putting a set of early gear driven hilux cases duals setup under my gq xtra cab.

just wondering how they are strength wise?? will i break the cases at all??

gq has a 350 chev and turbo 350 auto.

chev is only a mild unit with around 300 hp.

very keen on this setup but dont want to be forever fixes because they are broken.

First it will break the rear output shaft, There is a Chromo Upgrade for this, Then it will break the Input shaft, There is also an upgrade for this, Then it will either break the gears or again the Upgraded Chromo Rear output. If it doesnt break either of these it will break the front output and there is no upgrade currently available for this.

In something as heavy as a GQ with 300HP its not a good choice. I have seen Hiluxs with stock 22R 4Cyl break the outputs.

to spend all that cash on upgrading the hilux transfer you could save a few more dollars and buy a stak transfer from america.

I know I wish i did, dont get me wrong the hilux transfer is reasonably stong but any time you go upgraging it ends up cheeper to go dearer you know what I mean

Isn't there a dual case adapter for the gq transfers, If not there is also an atlas case from the states looks good but don't know what there like cost wise.

i am only going to run say 36 or 37's

it will be an auto so no clutch dumps

and it is only a ute so no massive body hanging everywhere.

some people dont have any trouble at all with the strength and they ive long happy lives. other people break them regularily

The only time i seen one fail was i think a 2nd gear side step off the clutch at full noise. With the auto why not just run your nissan case it should crawl along ok.

if i keep the auto i have Turbo 350 u cannot get adaptors for the nissan case.

only the toyota cases.

i would have to sell it and get a turbo 400 or 700

may as well just go manual
