Just get someone to sit in the back while you drive some bumps, and get them to pinpoint the sound source. Or just go for a nice hard 4wd - I've cleared up numerous rattles that way ;)

loose jack, tool bag, jack handle, half brick you left in there etc
underneath it could be worn shock bushes, panhard bushes, swaybar mounts, rear door catch, brake backing plates, wheels falling off etc

afraid you might have to crawl underneath and check for movement and looseness ...get someone to push it sideways and up and down while you check it out.

If you cant find anything try and get a more detailed description of the noise and exactly when it happenes, modifications etc

You want to get rid of a rattle, didn't you know Nissan spent millions of dollars on engineers and R&D to put those in there.

As for what it could be. Since it is a relative new car maybe there is something from the factory that wasnt bolted up properly, or one of the welds might not have been done right. As these a joind in the floor plan up the back somewhere (atleast there is on a GQ).
Also since it's new take it to nissan and say fix this you silly little first your apprentice.

Try removing the spare. I found that the rear door inside made a noise also check the door seals and the adjustments of the doors hit the spare with a hammer and see if you caan reproduce it... ;)
