Blown head gasket?
G'day guy's need your words of wisdom my resivour tank has been over flowing and water sprays out the side of the bonnet today when driving there was a bit of steam coming from the same spot and the water temp went cool then rised rapidly so I pulled over turned the car off opened the bonnet and found a crack in my resivour tank and was bubbling rapidly like it was going to explode once cooled down I opened up the cap and there was no water in the tank so I filled it up started the car and it bubbled quite badly like a boiled jug of water and the temp went straight to hot and there was a bit of water around the tip of the exhaust so I put it on a tilt tray and took it home as I didnt want to risk it . any thoughts on what is wrong ?? The car is a defender with a 4.6 V8 I've never had overheating problems for 2years Thats when the conversion was done and there has been no mods to it for 2years
defender 110,4.6,auto,36simex,maxidrive everything. "JEEP" your right, I dont understand????
Could be many things tho id be lookin at headgaskets first then maby a sliped liner as its a 4.6 they were renowned for sliping liners and leaking water into the cylinder or vice versa leakin combustion gasses into the cooling system ...
