I have a Daihatsu Rocky, fitted with a genuine factory PTO winch.
It has a pull/push knob and cable from floor to PTO unit. Pull to engage and push to disengage.
Through lack of use/water-crap ingress, this cable had previously siezed, and when forced one time, the inner cable snapped inside the outer housing.
I have had the cable rebuilt using stainless steel yachting rigging as a replacement inner cable. Unfortuantely, its not successful, as the original cable had a solid core that allowed the cable to be pushed back. The yachting cable wont allow this.
Anyone know of a business that custom builds cables such as this, or another vehicle with a similar cable activation system, that I could adapt to suit. Obviously prefer new. The winch comes in so handy for retrieving stuck 100 series Landcruisers and Navaras.
