with my 3.15 gears & auto box, I have about 40:1 low, which is quite slow (compared to standard) so 73:1 is almost double that, that will be very slow ideal for down hill thats about all. You will find yourself revving the guts out of your truck to get anywhere but you can always use 2nd, & 3rd gears.

With my 2.85 t-case and 5.29 diffs, I run close to 60:1 ratio and it's not that bad. Crawling up incredibly steep stuff is a breeze (even though I have a 4-banger) and down-hill slopes aren't that bad. Like mentioned, you can always down-climb in 2nd or 3rd.

See if you can get onto Frank (Bitsamissan) he knows Mark, but I havent heard much of him on the forum lately. I could ring Frank for you if you like, I have his number somewhere.

I think you can also get the gears from Marks Adaptors. The 3.15 gears are great, you will luv them!!!

Cheers Ian, I got marks email as markh@hardmanbros.com.au off Frank and have seen him use that same address telling other peopletoo but it didn't work, address unknown.

Yes marks do them, I see they are on the website - as I'm across the ditch I thought it'd be easier to deal with Mark H.

Cheers - I am looking forward to them but I do need to find a specialist by the sounds of things to get them in the manual box.

Do you find them noisy at all? Is there any difference in Low box?

Yes good idea to get them installed by someone who has the gear & knows what they are doing.

I had mine done in Canberra by Nash Offroad, they did a top job. The transfer case is a big motha.

The gears were heaps noisy when I had them put in, but they have quietened down a lot or maybe I have just gotten used to the noise. They also change the way the Paj drives in 4wd low, especially with the auto box, but in time you get used to it.

Let me know if you want me to chase up |Frank

cheers

I last emailed back and forth with Mark in mid-December about some custom PTO gears he made for me. He's there. The address above is incorrect...use mark@hardmanbros.com.au for email (note that it does not read "markh").
