Along the lines of the thread about custom ute tray's. Having made my own lightweight 40x20 RHS tray, what are the legalities of having to compliance a ute tray? Is it OK as long as you don't have sharp projections, lights work and it's not falling off?
What is the insurance companies standing when the tray gets half mangled in an urban rear ender, do they rebuild it, replace it, put an alloy tray on or refuse to touch the tray/accessories or even repair any chassis damage?
