Clutch has no pressure and can't get it into gear?

Post by CHUUBZ »

Made a trip to NSW and back in 1 day (1,000kms) and didn't notice any problems with the clutch/pedal etc, then the next day the clutch was pretty much on the floor, have to switch the car off and back on to get it into first without crunching and also when driving its hard to get it into gears. Does the clutch just need to be bleed or is it something else?
Also if it is the clutch that needs to be bleed is there a manual or something that shows me how to do it?
Cheers

Clutch master could be shot. Or if there is a noticable loss of clutch fluid, check to see if it is p*ssing out of the slave.

do you have a body lift?

If so, the flexible line from body to clutch slave can be stretched (happened to my gq shorty) and over time it deteriorated and cracked.

when driving without a clutch 1st gear usually means turning on and off....but other gears can be done smoothly by revving a bit higher and releasing the accelerator...then have pressure on the gear stick into the next gear u want while the car slows down and it will slide in when the speed meets up. changing down gears is a lot more difficult....requires engine to be revved to find the slot.

check fluid level. check for leaks, especially in slave cylinder.
buy a haynes and bleed it if no leaks apparent. air must have got in somewhere or somehow though for it to fail so quickly...
if no luck, maybe the master has busted a seal and not pushing fluid or many other things, the haynes/gregories will give you options and tell you what to check
