GQ 2.8 Fuel Economy

Hi,

I've got a customer with a 2.8 GQ. All pretty standard - 31 10R 15 All-terrains, 2" suspension lift. Pump & injectors reconditioned in the last 10000 kms.

He's concerned about his fuel economy. Around town he's getting about 7.6kms per L. Runs very nicely - smooth, pulls well, no excessive black smoke.

What sort of economy figures are OL readers getting with their 2.8 GQs?

Thanks

Peter K.

so he's getting around 608 km per 80l(basically when fuel light comes on) 13l/100km sounds pretty right!
And remember you said that thats around town which is always guna be worse!
i know people that get 10l/100km and some that get 15/ 100km!
if he's worried a good dyno tune should help things get better!

cheers

I've got 2" suspension lift with 305/70/16 mtzs and get anywhere between 12.5 L/100kms and 18L/100kms. Because it is such a peaheart engine, the wind direction and strength of the wind can make a huge difference to the fuel economy, as can your cruising speed also. Mine gets much better economy at 100kms than 110kms. The roof rack also makes a noticable difference aswell.
