gas gauge
gas gauge
ok iv just put a new gas tank in and its always been wired up to the stock dash gauge, the old gauge was just an earth then ya yellow signal wire and this new one has a back red and blue wire im guessin black earth red ignition and blue the signal wire, iv tryed everythin and cant get it to work. any ideas?
The new one has 3 wire and the old one 2? That sounds like you've gone from the normal resistance type to the less popular optical style. You can buy adapters, go see the local gas man or change the multivave assembly in the tank to a resistive type gauge, you will then have to fit the appropriate resistive sensor for the car. There is about 10 various senders available to match the various gauge resistances used by vehicle manufacturers.
