6VD1 SOHC vs DOHC

Post by BundyMonkey »

Hi I am currently tring to do an engine swap on a 95 HSV Jackaroo with the SOHC to a DOHC. As I requested a 6VD1 from the wreckers/importers I did not realise that there were differences within the same engine number and now that I have the engines out I can see the differences(jeez the engine bay is tight!!!). My question is that can the DOHC engine work off the same ECU and Auto as the SOHC?

Thanks in advance
