my co driver has gone and bought a vit softtop and been wheeling it for about 6 months ( stock ) and the gear box is gone and he is determand to fitt a bigger engine and was set to do 4agze engine but with the box going he can get a 2l v6 for 1500 and i did not think this was the best idea for a 2door but i thought it would be better to do a 2L 4c engine.
any thoughts on this s#2tfight of an install or has anybody done somthing like this.
( he is an ex ricer and torana - 350 chev owner / needs grunt )

Search won't do ya a whole lotta good though as there isn't a lot on this. I've tried a few times and got sfa.
Best bet from my research is the 2 litre 4cyl. The V6 is apparently a bit thirsty, and a tight fit. Also;- somewhere I read that the chassis rails are too close

i thought the 2L 4c would be alot better as it would be easier to get road a worthy and cheaper on rego plus the gain from the old 2L v6 to the 2L 4c is only small.

Given the choice I would use the J20A over the H20A having had both engines but the H20A is smoother. They will both go in and in stock form the economy is the same but there is more room with the J20A. The price from Tanshi is good but before putting it in I would change the rear main seal and the timing chain tensioner while access is easy as the parts aren't dear and it is good insurance.

I haven't quoted Grimbo because nobody takes him seriously :finger: :finger: :finger: :finger: [/quote]
Go the GZE. It makes better power, weighs less, and is much more reliable. As far as engineering goes you will probable have similar issues with the 2.0L and the 1.6 supercharged motors.
Having aid this, I'de recommend the 2.0L 4 cylinder. Its a good compromise between the above mentioned motors, and is much more reliable than the V6 version.
I reckon the H20 would be absolute murder to put in. The J20's are OK. not my cup of tea (no room for engine fan, not that available, more power than required for what I do with a car) and miles better than the H20
Trailtough do a J20 kit.
