ive got a 2000model hzj78 troopy and im tring to order some longs for it from the USA direct from longfields

when i give them the model of my rig they keep asking if i have a fj60 or

and i send them back the model again and they still dont know what im

then they asked what lenght the inners where but i dont want to

1-pull the axles out without haveing new replacements
2-end out pulling the axles out giving them them measerments and getting CVS off milo

AFAIK the US only got 40, 60 and 80 series toyotas, to no surprises they have NFI about your model. AFAIK the CVs are the same as an 80 series CV (which longfield make last I looked). But get someone else to confirm this before buying.

CORRECTION - have just read here: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=14714&st=40
that they are an intermediate size between the small (40/60) size and the large (80) size cvs. Which probably means that longfield don't make them.

Longfield do not make a CV to suit the 78 series. It may be possiblt to get the smaller 30 spline hilux/landcruiser CV to fit and it will be a huge improvment in strength over the stock 78 CV. Im sorry but i can not tell you for sure if they can be made to fit. You would have to have both types in front of you to measure.

Troopymad - I have a couple of 30 spline hilux longfields that I haven't fitted yet. You are welcome to bring one of yours over and we can compare them.
